It's been a month since I replaced my TADO smart thermostat with Home Assistant's Generic Thermostat and in this video, I run through my experience so far.

I go into the good and the bad and also cover some planned improvements I want to make.

All in all, I've been very happy with it so far and aside from the lack of scheduling in the component, it's been working very well.

The installation video is available to watch here -    • I replaced my TADO with Home Assistant's G...

The schedular component I mention is available in HACS at https://github.com/nielsfaber/schedul...

Video Notes:
In the making and editing of this video, I use two new pieces of software (both open source!).
The first is Open Broadcast Studio, which I used for capturing the video and screen. It's very flexible and allowed me to tweak my microphone levels. https://obsproject.com/
I used Shotcut for editing this video and I have to say, it's pretty good! Didn't try any transitions, but the general editing experience was very nice! I'll certainly be using this again. https://shotcut.org/
