Progress continues on the Jaguar XKR rear suspension rebuild! In Part 4, I’m getting back under the car to tackle the next big hurdles: disconnecting the prop shaft and the handbrake assembly.
In this episode:
Checking the focus and image quality with a new camera setup.
Marking the prop shaft position to avoid future imbalance issues.
Battling seized 13mm and 17mm bolts on the prop shaft using "old school" mechanics' tricks.
Dealing with a heavily corroded handbrake cable—is it worth saving or just cutting?
A first look at the over-axle exhaust pipes and the plan for removal.
Tips for working solo on your back when you don't have a two-post ramp.
This is a "real-world" DIY restoration—no fancy hydraulic lifts, just hard work on the floor of the barn.
