Piece: Sarasate - Introduction and Tarantella
I've never animated a musical instrument before, so I figured I'd do some research and see if I could animate my Tiefling bard Brendan playing the violin.
We've been playing Curse of Strahd lately and it's been a blast. (no spoilers pls) I started animating this thinking "this is going to happen sooner or later" since we'd been on bad terms with the Burgomaster of Vallaki for a while, but then it ended up happening for real before I finished.
Animated in Adobe Animate (stop crashing please omfg)
I used a program called Keyframe MP to study and mark the reference.
Backgrounds were thrown together in Photoshop.
None of this was rotoscoped, but in retrospect it probably would have been smarter to do so. Instead I just heavily, HEAVILY referenced off Brett's playing.
The close-up violin bits were animated on 1s because idk why not
Most of everything else was on 2s except for when I wanted to make it feel snappy.
