🥒 Garden Tip Tuesday -- give your cucumbers a little bit of help when growing them up a trellis.

Unlike pole beans, they won't automatically climb exactly where you want them to go. They'll sprawl on the ground if they don't have something nearby to wrap around.

While cucumbers can grow on the ground, I've found that growing them up a trellis benefits them in these ways:

1. Harvest is so much easier -- and you see the fruit better
2. There is less chance of the fruit rotting on the ground
3. You don't miss a fruit and its ripening signals to the plant to slow growth

I also believe the flowers are easier for pollinators to see and access, but that may just be my observation.

I've grown cucumbers on many different trellises, but my favorite is the arch trellis. To get more trellis ideas, comment 'trellis guide' and I'll send you a free download with 6 ideas for vertical crops.
