Hey friends,
Today we will touch on a topic, less discussed but nevertheless, as much important - blocking and camera angles. And in particular, blocking for bigger scenes with lots of actors and extras. This topic has always been interesting for me, how different directors go about it for different scenes, how the cinematographer chooses angles and how many shots done and etc.etc. I see this less discussed then lighting, but when it comes to shooting a bigger scene, not just too actors, how you choose your angles, what shots and how many shots you need is something that distinguishes visual artists.
And as an example for today’s video I bring the scene from Valkyrie. It’s a very nice movie, periodic piece about WWII, directed by Brian Singer with Cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel, ASC.
