I had heard great things about Star Citizen before I tried it out for myself, so I apologize for setting my expectations quite high, but I was let down on all fronts. While I did enjoy a few aspects of the game, I can’t say those experiences made up for what the rest of the game had to offer. I’ve played a ton of really unoptimized and poorly made games, and I honestly wasn’t coming into this expecting a totally smooth experience, but I’ve seriously never encountered such relentless and game breaking bugs in my life. I wish it were hyperbole. A lot of what I recorded early on was meant to document these issues from my perspective since Dev couldn’t reliably run OBS while playing, but that video was KIA. I didn’t really want to hyperfixate on those issues, but it was necessary for context, especially early on.
This video has taken me an extremely long time to put together, mostly due to a big wave of burn out I’ve been experiencing over the last few months which I’ve only recently started to break out of. I’m in the midst of a few projects right now which will hopefully be releasing soon-ish, including a second channel video, but I’ve had this on my to-do list for nearly a year at this point (recorded in May and August 2024).
