Is it worth upgrading to the business version of Lead Scrape? Now if you’re not familiar with Lead Scrape, I’ve got a lead scrape review walking through its features, the free lead scrape version, the lifetime deal from AppSumo and explaining why I think it’s the best lead generation software in 2021, so in this video I’m going to be focusing just on the business version.
I was considering upgrading but before I did it the Lead Scrape team reached out to me thanking me for my video review and actually gave me the business upgrade of this B2B lead generation tool for free, which was a lovely surprise, so just so you know I haven’t actually paid for it but I still wanted to do a comparison to show you what else you get and my thoughts on whether it’s worth upgrading.
One of the main differences with Lead Scrape Business is the amount of B2B leads you get. When you search on the standard version, it actually tells you how many extra leads if you’d done the search on the business version, and it’s usually a lot more, because they extract data from 7 sources rather than 3. So the example they give is if you search for "Restaurant" in San Diego CA with the Standard version you will get about 1200 results, the Business will return about 3000 unique results.
If you need leads in quite a generic niche, you’ll probably have enough with just the standard, but if you need lots or if you’re in a very specific niche, the business version might be better. In saying that, I serve a very specialised niche and I was still getting more than enough leads just on the standard plan.
You can also extract review ratings on Facebook or Yelp with the business version. That’s not something I need, but I could see a lot of potential use cases for this feature.
The feature that had the most impact for me was the bulk searches. So I wanted to scrape every city in the US, and I started doing this myself, starting with the most populated cities, and then I got a VA to start doing it, and that method worked okay, but I was still either having to do a new search every few minutes or pay someone else to do that. With the business version, I could scrape by state, so obviously I only needed to do it 50 times, and each scrape takes a lot longer, sometimes a couple of hours, so I could be doing other things while it was scraping in the background. So after about a week or two, I had scraped every state for my niche, and then I could also move on to searching in other countries. In that regard, it’s been really helpful -- it’s saved me a lot of time if I was searching for each city, or if I continued paying a VA, quite a bit of money — I think it probably would have been a lot more than the cost for the upgrade.
So, is it worth paying for the upgrade? In my situation, it definitely would be. I wanted to scrape every city in the US, and in hindsight, it would just take too long or cost quite a lot for a VA to do it. However, the standard version is still a great tool, you’ll still get plenty of leads in all sorts of different niches and countries and it’s a such a low price for what you get on the lifetime deal, so it depends on what you need — I’d recommend going for the free trial to see what it’s like for your business, then you can always move on to the lifetime deal, and then you can always upgrade later!
