Episode 9 of the 1964 Karmann Ghia restoration series.
In this episode, I investigate a clutch issue where it won’t fully disengage, causing the gears to crunch. After fitting a new Bowden tube, the problem remains, along with an unusual smoke coming from one of the mounting bolts.
This is one of those moments where something doesn’t feel right, so it’s time to slow down, take a closer look, and work through what’s really going on.
