Swap Out Animated Layers Within The After Effects Timeline
Swap out an animated layer with another clip or image from your content library and keep the animation and effects intact.
I have size matched my comps and illustrations for a seamless transition; however, this isn’t necessary.
Select the layer you would like to swap out in your timeline; the layer has to be selected for the swap to work. Otherwise, you'll only be able to drop the content onto a new layer.
Holding ‘alt’, select and drag the replacement media onto the selected layer in the timeline.
