"Don't Doubt Yourself" ~ May Challenge '23 Day 5
We all make “mistakes.” The determining factor of our success is what we do with them. ✨🙏🏼🌱
Do we let our mistakes demoralize us? Beat ourselves up over them? Internalize them as doubt, telling ourselves we’re not good enough? 🤦🏽♀️
Or do we smile at them? Maybe venture a chuckle? Embrace them and allow them to teach us? Turn them into innovation? 🌈
Do we practice unconditional love for ourselves anyway? 💗
I’m not interested in hiding my mistakes anymore. I’m not here to paint a perfect picture for you of what I’d like to sound like. I’m here to show up authentically just as I sound. And when I make mistakes, I’m here to keep on flowing with it, because self doubt kept me silent for far too long, and those days are over. 🎬
Don’t I know that I’ll get more followers if I only put out what’s polished? Sure, maybe.
But I’d rather my legacy as an artist paint a picture of authenticity than perfection.
I’d rather my work be about dispelling the doubt that has kept our art in hiding, than about attaining some fabricated ideal.
I’d rather my nieces and future children watch me make mistakes and love myself anyway, than have them believe a lie that I don’t mess up.
