"Been a long time coming,
but my heart is still thrumming,
and my hand is still strumming,
and my drive is still drumming!
Yeah, I still shy from the light,
but I know that it is soon time to take flight,
and the hardest part
is always the start,
when you can't totally verify
that you can actually fly.
Been a long time coming
since I made up my mind
that I would learn to fly
before the day I'd die,
and the way I dissolve the fear
when it arrives
is to remember that I'd rather die trying
than never even try.
And on this day, I will not wait!
Though my distracted mind loves to procrastinate,
I will remember my WHY,
and I will train my wings,
and when it is time to fly...
I will not hesitate to sing."
