GoPro Hero 3+ Black vs Hero 2, Sharpness and Artifacts
The Hero 3plus is sharper than Hero 2, but how significant is the difference. A sharper lens is an important factor, but the main difference is less artifacts due to faster image processing and a 30 percent higher bitrate. The downside is less recording time per Gigabyte.
Another difference between the two cameras is the mode 2.7K in Hero3plus. 2.7K means twice the amount of pixels compared to fullHD 1080p. In this mode the difference in quality is even more evident. The 2.7K is especially useful if you need to do extensive zoom-in during editing, but keep in mind that you get really large files and the battery will drain faster.
