DIYNate shows how to change the windshield wiper blades on his Volvo XC90 after learning from a couple of his own mistakes in his first try (ordered the wrong style initially - non-pinch tab; and cracked his windshield when the wiper snapped back against the glass). Hopefully this video helps to make the ordering and change process easy for you!

In this video, DIYNate walks through how to use the pinch tab to release the wipers (even though his pinch tabs had broken off from his previous attempt to change his wipers), and how to position the new wipers by lining up the tab on the wiper and then squeezing the pinch tab to lock the wipers in place.

He initially ordered the wrong type of wipers for his Volvo and realized the issue when he took the wiper off to find that the style was incorrect and also ended up cracking his windshield glass at the same time. He used a glass repair kit to seal the cracked glass, but the damage was already done. DIYNate hopes you avoid this type of issue when you change your wiper blades. He also had difficulty finding other helpful videos with the right wiper blade replacement specifically for his Volvo XC90. Hopefully this video helps you out with your replacement.

The steps include:
1. Put cardboard or cloth underneath your wiper if you aren't seasoned at replacing wipers; good practice for anyone to avoid the issue DIYNate ran into resulting in a cracked windshield.
2. Remove the old wiper by lifting the wiper arm and squeezing the pinch-tabs to release the old wiper.
3. Take the new wipers (21" on passenger side and 24" on driver's side for 2013 Volvo XC90) and align the metal tab from the wiper arm with the slot in the wiper replacement blade.
4. Squeeze the pinch tabs together and push up against the wiper arm ensuring the wiper locks in place.
5. Carefully rest the wiper blade back on the windshield and remove the cardboard - you are good to go!

Good luck with this simple replacement! Hopefully it will save you some money if you are going the DIY route and avoid paying a premium from a mechanic shop to charge you a higher price than you can find online or at your auto parts store and also charge you labor for the less than 5 minute effort.
