Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 6 "Melora" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where we get Melora, a character from a planet with low gravity meaning what we consider normal gravity is to crushing for her so she has to use a wheel chair to get around. This character was meant to be part of the main cast originally but was scraped because she was deemed as too expensive, but we do get her in this one episode, she was meant to be a reoccuring guest star but that never happened. She is portrayed somewhat realistically on how wheel chair bound people feel, as they don't like being talked down to or treated like invalids, however what isn't realistic is that this is supposed to be a Starfleet officer, and she doesn't seem to be familar with how Starfleet functions. And plus Julian gets in a romance with her while treating her, which is very unethical for a doctor to be dating his patient but that's never addressed. And there's a VERY throw away side plot of some guy trying to kill Quark that's so last minute and tacked on nobody cares. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis
