Office Hours - 24 March 2022 - Live - Identifying Place Names
This is not part of the File Rules series, but a problem with this file that I have to resolve.
This file, is not mine, but will use it as a Demonstration file that will be used for upcoming Live Streams and Blog Posts. It is the file that is used in the Family Tree Maker, Help, Companion Guide.
The nature of the file has a number of Place Names in Ireland and Scotland. One of the Rules in my file, is the use of the Place Name Authority, so that the Map feature works properly and that the places part of facts are consistent.
The plan is to identify, but NOT resolve, those Place Names that are not part of the Place Name Authority. A later event will go into how I will resolve those Place Names.
As other issue that I have discussed, records will help resolve these issues. I have also discussed that many Facts in this file are NOT documented. So, it's not like I can go to the Record is see what it tells me, but will have to find a record, that may help with the Place Name.
