In the Ethiopian wedding tradition, the bride, her bridesmaids, and her side of the family wait for the groom and his groomsmen at home the morning of the wedding. They wait for the men to come to the house. Before entering the home the groomsmen and the groom force themselves in the house, while the bride’s side of the family playfully block the men from coming into the house. Once the men are inside, the groom kisses the bride, in some cases on the lips, then the bridal party heads to the ceremony and thus the wedding begins.
