This is yet another Voyetra Technologies demo MIDI, this time with a custom mix because OPL3 sounded too generic to me. It didn't quite fit that "70s cop show soundtrack" vibe that the composer envisioned. Not a whole lot needed to be done, though I did go through 7 variations on the Minimoog bass patch before I settled on one faithful enough to the OPL3 timbre while still sounding "70s" enough. With the spring reverb, it actually kind of reminds me of Mega Man X1's synth bass. Speaking of SNES game soundtracks, I learned the "slapback delay panned to the opposite channel" trick from those. It really does add a ton of soundstage to what was originally a mono mix.
This is not to be confused with the "funk2.mid" from ExPages listed on the MIDI Wiki.
