Bushcraft Skills: Coiling a mug from Stream Clay
Always keen to learn new Bushcraft Skills, and in this video have a go at coiling a mug from Stream Clay. You can get very involved with the process, wash the clay from the other material and refine your clay to a commercial standard, but just grabbed it from the bank and went at it.
Hooking out any big lumps as I went, rolling out the base and getting stuck into the coiling, found it very absorbing, and just like learning any other primitive craft the time flew by, until several hours later I had a mug. I say mug, but maybe a mug shaped lump of mud might be more descriptive. Never got to fire it and have a coffee as something happened to it, but lesson learned and will not be leaving anything to dry at my woodland workshop again.
