This tutorial describes how to create calender view and get curret date
in android.
Google developer android website describe this class as the following:
1) This class is a calendar widget for displaying and selecting dates. The range of dates supported by this calendar is configurable.
2)The exact appearance and interaction model of this widget may vary between OS versions and themes (e.g. Holo versus Material), but in general a user can select a date by tapping on it and can scroll or fling the calendar to a desired date.
There are alternative libraries to provide an advanced calender view and most simpler such as the following libraries:
1) Android Times Square: Standalone Android widget for picking a single date from a calendar view.
