The History of Delta Airlines
Now the largest airline in the world by overall revenue, Delta Airlines has been the pioneer in innovation since its founding as Delta Air Lines in 1945; however the story of Delta began years before 1945.
Originally a Crop Dusting Service by the name of Huff Daland Dusters Incorporated, Delta’s story shares a lot in common with that of other airlines. Prior to the demand for Air Travel as a method of transportation, the world’s renowned airlines began as Cargo Transports or in Delta’s case, a Crop Duster.
Through multiple exchanges of ownership and changes of title from Huff Daland Dusters Inc. to Delta Air Corporation, and finally to Delta Air Lines, the airline we know today was born!
Delta Airlines has always led the airline industry being the first to fly many new aircraft, open new routes around the globe, and offer passengers a state of the art experience using the newest technology available.
