FLEX 6700: An Alternative to the FLEX 6700 the National NCX200
This vide is not about the FLEX 6700, that was to just get your attention. This video covers the National NCX-200 vintage 1966-1969 Five Band SSB/CW Transceiver.
It is a real step down from the NCX-5 but a huge step up from the NCX-3.
The published specs say it will DRIFT 1.5 kHz in the 1st hour and then 400 Hz per hour after that -- It truly does. Damn Analog VFO's
The Dial Readout is non-linear and best described as Squinty! Awful is a good word.
This radio sold for almost $400 without a supply -- friend if you bought one new in box you got robbed!
Some of the circuitry is identical to the NCX-5 like the AGC which I also had to repair.
It got you on the air but you only could do LSB on 80/40 but only USB on 20-10M. Basically a cheapened NCX-5 and your ears and signal reports can tell the difference. No VOX or RIT!
I got it cheap and so bought it.
