Born on Thanksgiving Day, it appears that she is living out her purpose. She is a cheerful giver raised by her grandparents, and one was a community activist. Camille finds joy in activism and giving, and this iniquity appears to be true to her purpose. Growing up in an area of Pittsburgh called the Hill District. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and earned a BA in Communications with a minor in math.
While at the University of Pittsburgh, Camille established herself as a creator and a leader. Camille is the developer of some of the University’s firsts: The Black Action Society (BAS) Talent/Fashion show, the Mr. & Ms. Black University of Pittsburgh, and the Freedom Honor Society at the University of Pittsburgh. As a student at the University of Pittsburgh, Camille was the BAS a committee member, program chair, vice president, then ultimately president of the University’s Black Action Society. Camille was instrumental in acquiring several of the University’s guest speakers such as Dick Gregory, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Derrick Bell, Randall Robinson, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, and more.
In Pittsburgh, she was the owner of the Momma Bear’s Quality Care and Playtime Creative Learning Center INC. After moving to Raleigh, NC, Camille and a business partner established Locally Gourmade, catering, which housed a store for local growers and food product developers. Finally, Camille found her niche in medical coding. Camille and her husband are the proud owners of one of the most prominent online Medical Coding Institutes globally with one of the highest exam passer ratings of all medical coding schools and called Absolute Medical Coding Institute (AMCI). Camille is known as “Mrs. Jay in the medical coding world.” After launching on YouTube in 2015, providing free medical coding instruction, AMCI took off like a rocket establishing Camille “Mrs. Jay” as a subject matter expert in the medical coding realm.
In addition to AMCI, Camille is the owner of Absolute Medical Billing Solutions (AMBS), where AMCI students and alumni can acquire medical coding experience. Camille is the author of the Medical Coding Guidelines Textbook (5 editions).
