S2E11 | Nina Dawkins - Entrepreneur and Producer
Nina Dawkins was born and raised in the City of Trenton and is an entrepreneur, being an owner and producer of several enterprises:
She is the owner of SunShine Travel; The producer of Laff Out Loud by Nina & Landy Comedy; and the owner of ND Booking Entertainment – project/stage management for live performances, i.e. concerts and festivals
Nina states: “Helping our community is a necessity. It is required in order for us to grow. If I can provide information to help someone or lead them in the right direction my job is done. Sometimes people just need an ear to listen, someone to help them make it to the next step. I am blessed to be able to help those who need it most."
Her work includes working with non-profit organizations such as Never Give Up (Sickle Cell awareness) - PR/ Entertainment, African American Cultural Collaborative and executive board and Event Coordinator of Stage Management.
She works with Clara's Heart as Event Coordinator and also works with other committees to better our community and help those less fortunate. She helps organize winter coat drives, feeding the less fortunate and is an advocate of Domestic Violence Awareness.
Ms. Dawkins is an event planner for the Mayoral Ball and also works with the Capital Area YMCA to help raise funds for our future stars of the Community Dance Academy.
She is proud of her biggest achievement - being able to last over 10 years producing live stand-up comedy by venturing outside of the Tri-State area to Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Charlotte and New Orleans. The comedy shows have been successful including group travel options.
Ms. Dawkins is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Rai Sien and Ajoule and continues to reside in Trenton.
