Ingredients :
4 teaspoons hoisin sauce (extra for basting)
1 teaspoon cooking wine
2 teaspoons soya sauce
1 teaspoon honey
1 piece of red fermented beancurd with 1 teaspoon sauce
1 teaspoon diced garlic
2 pieces of meat
Recipe:
1. Pat dry the meat.
2. Mash the beancurd and mix with the rest of the ingredients.
3. Add garlic to the mixture.
4. Pour onto the meat to marinate for 5 hours.
5. Wrap the baking tray with aluminium foil.
6. Pour water into the tray.
7. Put the tray below and the rack above in the oven.
8. Arrange the meat on the rack.
9. Bake at 200°C for 20 minutes.
10. After 20 mins, bast the meat with hoisin sauce and bake for another 15 mins.
11. Repeat step 10 for another 2 times at 10 mins each flipping the meat.
12. Charsiew is ready.
13. Let it cool for another 5-10 mins before cutting.
