Is The TV Service On Cruise Ships Reliable? Don't plan on getting a lot of entertainment value out of the television in your cabin on a Carnival Cruise. There is only a very limited selection of channels but more importantly as we show in this travel tip video the service is unreliable. Distorted images are just the beginning of the issues you may encounter trying to watch TV on a cruise - it's simply unwatchable at times. As a result we recommend being responsible for your own in-room entertainment by bringing movies, TV shows, and YouTube videos pre-downloaded on your device be it a phone, tablet, or laptop. There's plenty to do on a cruise however both the crowds and the physical activity can get to be a bit much for some and there isn't much going on at certain hours of the night when maybe you can't sleep. We're not saying you should stay in your cabin the whole cruise but bringing some options of things to watch gives you the choice
