First Start Of PowerSmart 24" Snowblower For 2023, Plus BIG BONUS!!!

It was high time to fire up the old PowerSmart 24" Snowblower. According to the weather forecast, I'm probably not going to need it this year, so I didn't really want to do this, but by the same token it's become sort of a "staple" every year, and I felt bad not starting it.
Not to mention, I had much bigger news to share, and then compare and contrast. Did you miss the recent China review video on the snowblower? Yes, that's right! PowerSmart reached out to me and sent me their new 26" model gas-powered, two-stage snowblower! I toyed around with the idea a bit and then finally decided that it would be a good idea. I could sell one of my snowblowers and then enjoy that money. While that is an option that's still in the cards, the "two is one, and one is none" phrase is REALLY ringing true in my mind now. What IF I can't get the snowblower started? I can't possibly shovel all this due to my back. I need a machine to do the work. And if that machine went down, then what? Having another on hand doubles my chances of at least one starting. Of course I don't really have room for both, which is something I'm going to have to address this spring.
How does the new snowblower compare to the old one? I can certainly see a number of design chances I don't like, and only one that is mildly good. But, objectively, I think the new machine would operate as well as any other one made today, and if I hadn't owned a similar snowblower before, I'd be happy with it. So it's probably pretty good. Snow, on the other hand, is something we have been lacking around here. We will get some, no question, it's too early in the season yet for it not to happen, but I don't believe it's going to amount to anything that would require the use of the snowblower.
