My 6-week travel to England and Wales, UK in the summer of 1995 (which covered Manchester, York, Oxford, and Aberystwyth) was occasioned by a training grant for graduate work in Librarianship at the University of Wales. The grant included attendance to the UK Library Association's Conference held in Manchester and study-observation tour of several libraries in Oxford, with a side trip, a heritage tour of York Minster.

Aberystwyth is a small university town situated in the west coast of Wales, with a resident population of 12,000, mostly students and senior citizens. The Llanbadarn Campus sits on a hill overlooking the town of Aber Rheidol Valley, and Cardigan Bay. I stayed here from June 30 until July 20, enjoying sightseeing trips to Mynach Falls, Machynlleth, Harlech Castle, and Clarach.
