Zelda Waltz Medley (Live) – Critical Hit Quintet
Zelda’s Lullaby, Hilda’s Theme, Inside a House (Link’s Awakening) and Ballad of the Goddess – performed as The Legend of Zelda Waltz Medley by Critical Hit Quintet.
This short medley brings together four iconic themes from The Legend of Zelda series, all sharing the characteristic feel of a waltz in three.
The medley includes:
----Zelda’s Lullaby – one of the most recognizable themes in the entire Zelda series, appearing in games such as A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and A Link Between Worlds.
----Hilda’s Theme – from A Link Between Worlds, representing Princess Hilda and the mirrored kingdom of Lorule, an inverted counterpart to Hyrule. While it shares the same triple meter, the theme moves into a darker minor sound with a subtle Dorian flavor.
----Inside a House – from Link’s Awakening, one of the charming interior themes from the game’s villages and homes.
----Ballad of the Goddess – from Skyward Sword. Interestingly, this melody is famously constructed as Zelda’s Lullaby played in reverse, connecting the theme to Zelda’s divine origins and the mythology of the series.
This performance was recorded at Hos Naboen during a concert organized by Kristiansand Jazzclub in Kristiansand, Norway.
Critical Hit Quintet performs jazz arrangements of music from video games, exploring how iconic game melodies can be reimagined through improvisation, harmony and groove.
