June 8, 2004 - Hounded by Kobe Bryant for much of the evening, Detroit Pistons guard Richard Hamilton finished with 26 points on 10-of-25 shooting from the floor in a 99-91 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of the 2004 NBA Finals.

In the Eastern Conference Finals, Hamilton saved the day by being the only member of his team's rotation to shoot better than .404 for the series, averaging 23.7 points on .474 shooting in a six-game win over the Indiana Pacers.

Against the Lakers, Hamilton saw his production and efficiency drop (21 points on .402 percent shooting), opening the door up for teammate Chauncey Billups to swoop in and secure the NBA Finals trophy.
