June 15, 2003 - San Antonio Spurs forward Stephen Jackson scored 17 points, matching his point total in the previous three games combined, en route to an 88-77 championship clinching win over the New Jersey Nets in Game 6 of the 2003 NBA Finals.
The 2002-03 season represented Jackson's certified arrival on the NBA stage. After being selected in the second round of the 1997 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, Jackson wandered around the globe, bopping from the CBA to Australia to Venezuela to the Dominican Republic before the New Jersey Nets signed him in 2000. Despite a solid rookie year in which Jackson averaged 8.2 points per game, the Nets let him go in 2001. It was with a degree of presumed satisfaction that Jackson ended up cooking his former team in the 2003 Finals.
