June 6, 1989 - Prior to Game 1 of the 1989 NBA Finals, NBA on CBS host Pat O'Brien sat down with Mark Aguirre, Magic Johnson, and Isiah Thomas for a pre-series interview among pals. With Johnson's Lakers getting the better of Pistons the season prior, Thomas now had childhood friend Aguirre in tow, setting the stage for a successful redemption arc. A 4-0 sweep resulted in the Pistons' first championship in franchise history.
