2-D Beam Analysis of Continuous Beam system with ANSYS
Only few people know that beam problems can be analyzed by using 2-dimensional finite elements. Most people use the 1-dimension beam finite element procedure to solve beam problems. I illustrated how to use 2-D dimensional elements to solve a 2-Span continuous beam on the ANSYS program. The results were compared with the results using 1-D finite elements.
