Controlling Ableton live with a modular synth //
Lately I've been controlling Ableton Live with my modular synth system by converting control voltage to midi and mapping it to various parameters in Ableton. In this patch I'm using Intellijel Metropolix and Make Noise Maths to create a generative ambient bed of synth tones in Ableton Live. I'm layering a vocal sample over it using Ableton's Simpler device, and using the Poly Effects Hector to send Midi CCs to manipulate the sampler and effects.
Hector is a virtual modular synth system that hosts software emulations of many Mutable Instruments modules including Marbles. I'm using Marbles to send midi notes to Simpler, and also using Hector's CC to CV conversion module to send CV values from Intellijel Triplatt to the Simpler's effects chain.
The guitar is being looped and processed in my Line 6 Helix using the Glitch delay and two copies of the Euclidean delay.
