Humankind is facing the combined consequences of climate change, biodiversity loss, and multiple forms of malnutrition. Even though we rarely get to know them, there are many stories of unsung heroes facing these challenges in their communities.
In this video, the Wampash Mashumar family narrate their journey of reforesting
250 hectares of Amazon rainforest in Pastaza, Ecuador. By replanting native species that are used as medicine and food among the Shuar Indigenous people, this family has recovered native biodiversity, at the time they fight climate change and promote nutrition.
