Making a Large NATIONAL PARK SERVICE Sign
Hey everyone welcome back! Today I'm making a giant National Park Service logo to hang on my wall. It's made from a half-inch pine board and carved using a CNC machine. Once the woodworking was done, I hand-painted the details and proudly hung it up to remind myself of my goal to visit all National Parks across the US. If you want to follow along, it's the perfect project for entry-level woodworking with a CNC or basic tools, depending on how much detail you'd like to add into the design. The design itself was done in Adobe Illustrator but you can use any vector-based program you're comfortable with. If you're using a CNC, Vetric V Carve is a great product to use because it also writes the code necessary for the CNC machine to read. I used the Stepcraft D840 CNC machine to do the carving but again, hand-cutting and hand-carving is another great option.
