Top-Down Zombie Apocalypse Survival Game Template | Solo Dev Work-in-Progress
Join me on a journey to create a top-down zombie apocalypse survival game heavily inspired in Project Zomboid using Unreal Engine! In this video, I'll be showcasing my solo dev work in progress, featuring all the essential elements you need to get started with your own survival game.
Features:
Basic Zombie AI: Walk randomly, Perceive players (Sight and Hearing), Follows players, attacks when close.
Player Movement: Smooth and responsive movement controls using Enhanced Input Component and Gameplay Ability System.
Damage System: Calculates damage based on Insulation attribute, with gameplay effects for damage application.
Health System: Tracks player health, with On Health Changed and On Out Of Health events.
Inventory System: Manages items, including stacking, consumption, movement between containers and more is coming.
Backpack System: Allows players to equip a backpack to extend inventory capacity.
Hover-Over Tooltips: Provides additional information about each item in the inventory
Gameplay:
Scavenge for supplies and equipment to survive.
Craft and upgrade items to improve your chances of survival.
Fend off hordes of zombies using a variety of weapons and tactics.
Explore abandoned buildings and areas to uncover secrets and resources.
Technical Details:
Built in Unreal Engine 5
C++ code used for Gameplay Ability System implementation, Health System, Inventory System and Equipment system.
Blueprints used for UI and gameplay logic.
