Let’s see how you can insert a date picker and change the date format to full date format. Additionally, I will show you how you can change the color of the date picker, the font, font size and font color of the Date Picker’s contents.
First of all you need to make the Developer tab visible, so go to File, Options, Customize Ribbon and check the check box right next to Developer to make the Developer tab appear.
Now, from the Developer tab, the Controls section click on the Date Picker Content Control that is the rightmost element in the second row. Let’s see how we can change the date format to full date or any other of the available date formats. Select the Date Picker and in the Developer tab, the Controls section click on Properties and a popup box will appear. Go to the Date Picker Properties section and from the “Display date like this section”, you can select the date format that you would like to use, in this case I will go with the full date format.
From the color selection of the Date Picker’s properties you can select the color of your Date Picker to make it stand out from the rest of your text if you’d like or to make it better assimilate with the other text.
If you check the Use a style to format text entered into the empty control you can select the font, font size and font color of the text entered into the Date Picker allowing you to modify the Date Picker’s style to your liking. You can select the font to be used, the font size and the font's color to one of your liking and the Date Picker's contents will be formatted accordingly.
