Safari Van named So$ari Topic - Plastic body panel removal
I show you what holds on the plastic body molding and why it hides a BIG PROBLEM you don't even know you have. Astro or Safari van owners that have this body molding should watch this video. HOW TO REMOVE and everything you need to know is below in the description.
HOW TO REMOVE = First remove all the screws shown in the video -- Then remove the plastic push retainers -- start at the TOP CORNER of any of the big 2 sided tape pieces using a plastic putty knife work on it until you can get a hold of the panel. Slowly peel it off. repeat on lower pieces peeling them in an upward motion ... then remove the rusty metal strips.
After you remove the plastic body molding you will have a lot of glue and 2 sided tape sticky left on your van.. I used plastic razor blades (search Ebay) and "Goof Off" to remove it all. It took a long time ... some people had luck with an eraser wheel however it didn't really work for me.
THE MISSING TRIM PIECE at the front wheel can be found in the wrecking yard on cargo vans. They typically did not have the plastic cladding. Good luck ! Please like this video if it helps you.
