Batique | The First Cognitive Assessment Tool for Children Aged 5-12 in Indonesia
In our collaboration with PT Melintas Cakrawala Indonesia and Gadjah Mada University, we at Level Up powered by Agate faced a challenge: creating an accessible cognitive assessment tool for children aged 5-12.
The existing AJT Cognitive Test, a valuable framework, wasn't ideal enough for younger users, as cognitive abilities develop at different rates and in different ways across various age groups. Children aged 5-12 are in a critical phase of cognitive development, and their abilities can differ significantly from those of adults or even older children.
Enter Batique! This game-based assessment, aligned with the AJT Cognitive Test and CHC theory, utilizes eight engaging mini-games to measure various cognitive abilities in children. Accessible as a web application, Batique offers:
Multidimensional Assessment: Aligned with CHC theory, Batique provides a nuanced understanding of a child's cognitive strengths and areas for improvement across multiple domains.
Adapted and Validated Games: Each mini-game is carefully adapted from the AJT framework and validated for Indonesian children, ensuring reliability.
Web Application Accessibility: Accessible on any device, Batique increases usability and reach.
High Validity and Reliability: With over 1,750 children participating in validation, Batique demonstrates strong correlation with CHC theory.
Batique exemplifies how gamification can revolutionize assessment practices, making them engaging and accessible for younger audiences.
