Address Resolution Protocol Overview || ARP2
This video describes the whole concept of the Address Resolution Protocol and various features of the protocol.
It was originally defined for 10mb Ethernet, but generalizations have been made for this protocol to be implemented on other networking hardware, such as packet radio networks.
ARP is an acronym for Address resolution Protocol, a TCP/IP protocol used to resolve logical addresses into physical addresses to facilitate data delivery on a network. Hosts are assigned an IP address on their connected network interface to indicate the network location of that interface. This makes it possible to have end-to-end communication and delivery of data.
Documented in Request For Comments number 826 around November 1982 is an internet standard protocol which is in wide use today as a method of resolving a given logical address, into a physical address. ARP was originally designed to be used on networks where Ethernet is used as the link-layer technology, but generalizations have been made to accommodate its use for non-Ethernet-based networks such as packet radio networks.
