This video teaches VLAN in a very simple way. Understand the principles of PVID in a VLAN topology.
For port-based VLANs configurations. The PVID is a 12-bit value in a VLAN header that specifies the VLAN to which a port belongs.
When an untagged frame sent from a device hits a switch port on which a PVID is configured, the switch adds a VLAN header with a PVID field holding a value in the range of 1 to 4094 depending on the VLAN settings.
This in fact, attaches the sending device to a VLAN, and pushes all of its traffic on the path of the associated VLAN.
