Meet Maura, one of our 12 #BeatTheClock champions. The clock she’s beating is the estimate from the World Economic Forum that it will take 131 years to achieve gender equality. Maura isn’t going to wait for that.

Working as a waste picker at the Cateura dump in #Paraguay alongside her mother and many of her relatives, Maura dreaded the prospect of her children doing the same. But there was no way out – until, sifting through the trash, Maura found one.
