Half Time Shuffle Practise
I've been focusing on my feel and timing recently as I felt there was a lot of inconsistency overall in some of my playing, so I've been setting more time aside to practise. One of the main feels/grooves I've been looking at is the half time and regular shuffle. My band features two tracks with a shuffle feel throughout, so I thought it important to work on.
I'm not using a metronome in this clip, it's more focused on the feel rather than perfect time right now, but I will get round to that soon. Hope you enjoy!
Also, replaced that Code head with a Remo vintage emperor, I hope this one lasts. I've been very unlucky with dud heads from Remo so hopefully this one won't break any time soon. Having said that, I'm really struggling to get a proper sound out of it. It sounds OK here, but it isn't tuning up easily and is misbehaving - hopefully that'll change as the head gets more worn.
