Boosting a post makes your post into a Facebook ad.
When you boost a post it gives you some choices including
an the ad objecctive setting, schedule and bidding, and audience selection. But it does leave out placement settings and optimization and delivery settings.
So you have some more choices if you use the ads manager.
However, you can still use the boost post button and then go into the ads manager and make more changes. Just do it before the ad runs too long so you get the settings correct right away.
