Wat Pothisomphon is a royal temple of third class, ordinary type. It was built in the Rattanakosin period in 1906, at the end of the reign of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V, by Phraya Sri Suriyarajwaranuwat (Bodhi Neti Bodhi), the ruler of Udon Thani province.
