Micah, a young space enthusiast from Leeds, UK, hit his stride with computing when he joined a Code Club at his local library. Despite initial shyness, with support from his mum, Catherine, and Code Club mentor, Basia, Micah has discovered a talent for coding and a confidence that extends beyond the club’s doors, which has led him to embrace other extracurricular activities like Lego club and drama.
Basia’s own journey from coding beginner to confident mentor is a great example of the positive impact of Code Club on both children and mentors. With dedicated mentors like Basia, Code Clubs not only teach coding, but also help shape the leaders of tomorrow.
Micah has exciting dreams for the future, including becoming an astrophysicist, a marine biologist, and the founder of his own company, Save The Planet. Join us in celebrating Micah's inspiring journey, and consider exploring coding with your child or setting up a Code Club in your community.
