this video shows an installation of the 'XRay-1.8-v2.11.0.jar' file
Main steps of XRay Mod 1.8 installation:
1. run Minecraft launcher
2. run the game and quit after a few seconds, then close the launcher
3. double-click the downloaded XRay Mod 1.8 file
4. click the 'Install' button, then click the 'OK' button
5. after XRay Mod 1.8 is installed click the 'OK' button
6. run the launcher
7. click 'new profile', rename 'profile name' to e.g. 'xray' and select 'release 1.8XRay' from the 'use version' list; save
8. make sure that the 'profile' is selected on 'xray'
9. click play
