Dev Log #1 - Arwing Early Prototype

This is a really early prototype of an Arwing player ship you'll be able to use in my Star Fox fan game. It doesn't quite behave like the Arwing in the 3D Star Fox games. But nonetheless, all you can do is fly, decelerate, accelerate, and use an afterburner. And you can shoot double lasers!

In the full game, you'll be on an epic quest to save the (galaxy?) from two faction's who's war of attrition has affected thousands of races over tens of thousands of years. And at the time in the game, their war front is slowly creeping its way into the Lylat system. And only you can stop them! (Star Control 2 much? hmm? No... not quite. :)

You'll venture out of the Lylat system, to explore many many more systems in realtime 2D space. You'll encounter many enemies, speak to many alien races, and even speak to familiar characters that are canon and non canon to the star fox lore. (Fara, Miyu, for example, in addition to canon characters, such as krystal.)

This though? Well, it doesn't represent the final product, but rather what it will be like to fly within the game itself.

This took about 4 days to code due to me being a newbie at coding, and programming in general. But I learned a lot in that time, and am determined to push forward and learn even more. Math was never my strong point, and even basic programming like this in a little game engine requires math - but I will learn, because the only things that exist for me are goals, and learning. If you can learn, there are no obstacles, only goals.

Created in Game Maker 8.0 Pro using a high level language called GML.

What to fly this sucker? Go ahead, just don't fly off the screen.

SPACE=Afterburner (Mind the gauge at the bottom left!)
W=Accelerate
S=Decelerate
A=Veer Left
D=Veer Right
Left Mouse button=Shoot
