How to teach sounds | SLP
When teaching a child, to say a speech sound correctly, we start small and baby stuff our way up.
We let them practice the sound in isolation for as long as it takes for them to be able to see it consistently.
Then we will have them practice that sound in nonsense, syllables over and over again until they can do that consistently.
We keep working our way up in this manner. It may take days, weeks, or months.
