Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode, we clean up some naming and styling inconsistencies by updating the communities top bar classes and adding missing CSS, then move into building out the invite members flow by extending the modal state in our store, creating and wiring up a CommunitiesInviteMembersModal with a custom top bar and searchable content, integrating it with our existing discovery context to find users, and finally connecting everything to the UI so we can open the invite modal directly from the community members view and start inviting people seamlessly.
